Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism

Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism fortnightly silicone hyrdogel lenses are supplied in boxes of 6 lenses and should not be confused with Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism One Day lenses supplied in boxes of 30 or 90 lenses. Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism lenses in the 6 packs are typically worn for a 8 to 12 hour day, for 14 individual days, with insertion each morning and removal at night for cleaning and storage.

A key benefit of these silicone hydrogel lenses is their high oxygen permeability, allowing significantly more oxygen to reach the cornea.  This feature can provide the option of continuous wear to up to 6 nights and 7 days, if recommended by your Eyecare Practitioner. While extended wear can be convenient, it may shorten the full fortnightly replacement cycle due to protein and debris build up on the lens surface, which can affect comfort. 

Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism lenses  feature Class 1 UV blocking, the highest level available in contact lenses. While not a substitute for sunglasses, the UV protection in the lens adds an extra layer of defense for the eyes including protection from bounce back glare from the inside of sunglasses.

These fortnightly lenses also help reduce dryness due to a wetting agent, Hydraclear Plus, embedded in the silicone hydrogel material. However air conditioned environments can cause lens dryness and in these situations lubricating drops specifically for contact lenses can help maintain comfort for the full day of wear.
